Mum used to tell me that life is not always a bed of roses and that I should take the good along with the bad. Mum herself was a good example when Pa was ill. She braved many visits to the hospital, cooked for him and kept him company. She took one day at a time and never complained. I too try to take one day at a time but unfortunately, several days attack me all at once, sometimes.
