This time, we had lunch at Oo White Coffee. I opted for chicken herbal soup with vermicelli while my aunt had her soup with mee. It was delicious and fragrant with herbs! It was a good choice and worth waiting for in the queue outside!

I had lunch today with my aunt at an Oo White Coffee outlet near us. She was looking forward to some herbal soup but unfortunately they didn't do it today so we settled for Ipoh Sar Hor Fun, which was not nearly as good as the original. Nevertheless, we made up for it by pampering ourselves with a large bowl of cendol each! Now that we've got all that sugar in us, we've got to get moving and do that walk in the park tomorrow morning!
It's always good to have a plate of good old fish and chips, though the chips were not crispy but the fish was good, warm and crispy! I guess the chips had been fried sometime earlier and had become soft. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my lunch and may consider returning again to this cafe another time!
I had lunch with a cousin today and we went to this cosy place inside a busy mall. Nice decor, lovely tea sets and crockery, lovely food. My cousin had Hawaiian Sandwich while I chose Lemon Grass and Mint Chicken (pictures below).

How would you like to have lunch in a heritage building overlooking a football field and tennis courts? It was my first time to this little cafe which specialises in Hainanese food. It is indeed a relaxing place to eat with all that green around although I had to wait for my chicken chop for more than half an hour due to too many orders! Good also for business lunch as it is quiet and away from the traffic outside. The menu is quite wide and offers local favourites like fried noodles and rice sets apart from "Western" food. I wouldn't mind going there again though I don't think I want to order chicken chop unless I'm prepared to wait!

My New Year's Day lunch - Nonya Fried Rice with Kapitan Chicken, omelette and assorted vegetables. I also ordered a side dish - chicken lobak. All in all, it was a satisfying meal and saved me from cooking and washing dishes on new year's day! 😊😊
It looks quite simple but okay with me because I don't want too much meat. This set has Joo Hu Char (top left), fried French beans and a few prawns fried in tamarind, not forgetting some sambal hidden under the rice! It was a good change from my usual Sunday brunch which I get from a veg outlet. This shop also sells nasi lemak, chicken pies, custard puffs, apple pies and cakes. I may drop by more often in the future!
How's this for lunch - Dome's Signature Chicken Pie served with some greens. It came warm and nice and the puff pastry was crisp and fresh. There were also generous portions of chicken and it made a really filling lunch! My tummy will have only enough space for a very small dinner later this evening!
I was at a food court in town for lunch today and saw one of my old favourites - Claypot Chicken Rice - which is something I haven't taken for a long time. It came piping hot in a claypot (of course) and I found that apart from chicken, there were generous bits of salted fish and Chinese sausage. Unfortunately I didn't find it as good as I expected it to be, maybe my taste buds have gone awry but nevertheless it was a good, solid lunch. May come here again to try other food!
This is one street food which I hadn't had for years - Duck drumstick with vermicelli in herbal soup (Aak Tui Mee Suah in Hokkien) but since I don't like duck so much, I opted for the chicken version. The soup which had goji berries and other Chinese herbs was quite good and very nourishing for the body. A good choice after a walk in the park!
I had this ham omelette for brunch today. I didn't expect it to be so fluffy and it actually reminded me of the thosai that I eat at Indian restaurants! Though the omelette was okay, I was disappointed that they didn't have baby spinach which was supposed to go with it, instead we were given some chopped salad leaves. I guess you win some, you lose some, as they say.
Dim Sum has always been a great favourite of mine and recently, I discovered this little restaurant tucked away amidst bamboo trees near the Botanical Gardens. I had been there before for their egg tarts (Post: "Two for Tea") but this time I brought my aunt along for lunch. We were served by a very pleasant waiter who told us that they open only in the mornings up to 2 p.m. mainly for the breakfast crowd. We chose the chicken and century egg broth, mini BBQ pork buns, Prawn Siew Mai Wong, HK Pork Flour Roll ("Chee Cheong Fun") and Mini Matcha Red Bean Buns (for dessert). I wouldn't say it's the best dim sum I have had but the cool, serene ambience made up for whatever is lacking. We may go there again!

Fried rice with sweet and sour chicken/pineapple and mixed vegetables ordered online. The chicken was a bit tough, otherwise it was a good meal! 😋
Lunch of Ipoh Hor Fun and Egg Tarts at an outlet near my home, recommended by a friend. I took my aunt as well and it was our first time there. We were surprised to see the crowd, especially it being a week day. I had to scan a QR code for the menu and order what I wanted from my phone. A helpful waitress told us that she would order for us since my phone seemed to be a little slow but the food came quite fast after ordering, so we tucked in. Not bad, I guess though the original Hor Fun from Ipoh is of course better. I liked the egg tarts which were sold separately by a lady. Apart from local hawker fare, they also have a few breakfast items like toasted bread and buns. We have made a note to come for breakfast next time!
Kon'nichiwa! Went to a Japanese restaurant today and had Dry Ramen with all the trimmings. I must say it was very filling though there really wasn't that much to eat. Verdict: Prefer our good old Wan Tan Mee anytime!

A simple lunch today ordered online. Soy sauce chicken rice set with braised egg and sauteed baby bok choy. The taste was quite bland and I felt it could do with a few more dashes of soy sauce. Other than that, I have no complaints. Wonder what's it like to have to think of a menu every day with so many different taste buds to cater for .....
It's vegetarian Sar Hor Fan (fried flat noodles) with all the trimmings. On Sundays I like to take a break from rice, so this is a good alternative. Incidentally, I have bought some new place mats with motivational slogans. This one gently reminds me to "Enjoy Life" while I eat!
Lunch today was Pandan Nasi Lemak with Ayam Goreng/Bawang set ordered online. There was also some ikan bilis and groundnuts (behind the eggs). It was alright, if not a bit dry. I wanted to try their sago soup but the kitchen ran out of it. Still it was a satisfying meal. Thank you, God that I have so much to eat.
