I recently attended the 90th birthday dinner of an old friend. She used to be a close friend of my mum's and together with another lady, the three of them would go everywhere together and were popularly known as "The Three Musketeers". This lady is still mentally sound and despite having to move around with the help of her maid or in a wheelchair, she still maintains a happy and positive outlook. She had a few gripes though about her food. Her daughter apparently keeps a strict control on her diet because of her diabetic condition, so most of her food is rather bland and tasteless. Looking at her, I couldn't help but feel a little sad thinking how great it would be if Mum were alive today. She would be 99 years old and another Super Woman! And I would be happily giving away birthday "mee koo" to everyone like this lady!
