It's that time of the year when I think of my feathered friends, yeah, the Christmas turkeys. Hopefully this year, with the pandemic, people will cut down on their Christmas celebrations and have a modest Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner minus all the trimmings i.e. no turkey. Is this too much of a sacrifice to make in the face of the major crisis the world is going through?
Perhaps the pandemic is the wake-up call we all need. It has taught us to appreciate the little things in life, to be thankful for all our blessings. It has taught us to be kinder - to Mother Nature, to all living beings (including animals and birds), to be less selfish, to be more caring - the list goes on - and hopefully there will soon come a time when we can all smile and say, "Thank God it's over". So, my dear friends, spare the turkeys this Christmas - you won't regret it!
