Breakfast Today

This time it's vegetarian Chee Cheong Fun, all neatly packed in a box.  Since it's vegetarian, there is no shrimp paste to go with it but still the taste is not too bad.

From my research, Chee Cheong Fun is a steamed rice noodle dish that originated in Guangdong Province, China. The name translates to "pig intestine noodle" in Cantonese, but the dish doesn't actually contain pork offal. The rolls are named for their resemblance to pork intestine, which is a common ingredient in South Chinese cooking.

So there you have it.  Interesting information to chew on when you next have a plate of CCF.
