The most embarrassing moments can just happen without any warning! My aunt and I were having lunch with a long lost cousin who had suddenly surfaced and was spending a few days in town. We took her to a North Indian restaurant famous for their tandoori chicken and soon lost track of time as we caught up with each other's news. It was only after I got home that I realised that though I had paid for our main meal, I hadn't paid for the second round of drinks that we had! The restaurant must have thought we were never going to show up again but of course, I just couldn't leave it at that. I phoned them to say that I would be coming the next day to settle the bill and so I did. The cashier laughed and said, "I know, you all talk, talk, talk and forgot about everything!" We both had a good laugh and I am relieved I can now sleep with a clear conscience!
