Despite what the meteorological station said about hot, dry weather in these two months, it is raining cats and dog. Incidentally, have you ever wondered why we say raining "cats and dogs" and not perhaps "chickens and ducks?" Apparently in 17th century England, the roads were so badly constructed that every time there was a storm, cats and dogs would drown, and people seeing the corpses floating by would think they had fallen from the sky! Hence the birth of the idiom "raining cats and dogs"!
