I recently took an aunt, who now lives overseas, to lunch at a Nonya restaurant. She was simply delighted as she hadn't had authentic Nonya food for years and was looking forward to it on her return home. A few days later, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a little note from her thanking me for a "fabulous" lunch. It is always nice to be appreciated and little things like a thank you note count. Hope to see you more often, Aunty!

Rice with baked beans, scrambled eggs and veg. Simple and enough to keep the hunger pangs away until dinner time!
