The Mid-Autumn Festival is upon us, the shops are overflowing with mooncakes and too bad if you're watching your waistline. These round little cakes with elegant designs on top and intricate fillings are really too tempting to forego. Fortunately for me, I find them too sweet and can only tolerate a few pieces. Mum used to like them too and would buy lots for prayer, then keep them in the fridge and take a nibble as and when she liked. The roundness of the cakes symbolise completeness and togetherness - all well and good, provided one doesn't become round as well!
