A friend recently asked me to join her Zumba class. She said it would be wonderful exercise for me and help burn up a lot of unwanted calories. She was very persistent and I finally went to her class one evening, rather reluctantly, of course. As I anticipated, there were dozens of young people with slim, sprightly bodies there and I began to feel like a fish out of water. They were however very friendly and encouraged me to join them. Well, it has been a long time since my middle aged bum swayed to music and I could hear the creaks and groans my bones were making! I was very relieved when they stopped for a break and for the rest of the class, I just sat and watched as the young, lithe bodies in front of me jerked, shook, wriggled and jumped. No, no, this is definitely not for me. Nothing beats a brisk walk as far as I'm concerned and I think my bum and legs couldn't agree more!
