I received a call from my nearly 90 year old aunt the other morning. She sounded rather worried because the crowning of a tooth had suddenly dropped off, leaving a gap in the front row of her teeth and she was not sure whether it was safe to see the dentist to fix it in view of the current virus epidemic. I assured her that it was not likely that a sick person would go to see a dentist rather than a doctor. "What if the dentist had contact with an infected patient or what if ..........." She named at least half a dozen "what if's". I told her that if she was really that worried, then she should postpone her visit to the dentist. She pondered over that for a while and she must have taken my advice because the last time I saw her, she was happily playing mahjong with her friends, a toothless grin on her face!
