Well, what do you know, I ran into my RAT friend again a couple of days ago. I was driving home when he shot out of a junction and characteristic of that small creature, scurried away and was soon lost to sight. If he had stopped and parked, I think I would also have stopped to say hello! I hope I bump into him again!
