Sometimes you wonder what has happened to your long lost relatives i.e. those who have gone overseas and never found time to come back. Then one day out of the blue you get an email saying that so and so is returning home for a holiday. So you get ready to welcome him back and sometimes you get a mild shock because the cousin (or niece or nephew, whatever) you played with years back now has greying hair around his temples and lines on his face. You begin to wonder whether you've mistaken someone else for him. But it IS him after you have checked out his identity. I guess it works both ways - this long lost relative may not be expecting to see a plump, middle age woman who was as thin as a scarecrow thirty years ago.
