It's that time of the year when my sympathies go to our feathered friends, the turkeys. Thanksgiving and Christmas are around the corner and I'm sure these poor creatures can sense that it's their Doomsday soon. Statistics tell me that an estimated 245 million turkeys are raised and killed for their flesh every year in the US. Of this 46 million of them are killed each year at Thanksgiving alone, and more than 22 million die at Christmas. Unfortunately customs and traditions die hard and this killing will go on for years to come. Yes, turkey lives do matter. So spare a kind thought for these poor birds and do without your turkey this year!
Remember the Starfish parable? Just like the boy who saved a starfish, you too can make a difference!
