Snake in the Grass

It's been some time since I sat down at my writing desk to pen some words.  So much has happened since then .... typhoons, floods, falling trees, even a snake in the house.  Aah yes, the snake - brought in by my naughty cat, Honey.  It was a thin green grass snake, about two feet long.  Honey must have found it in the garden and seemed to think it was some kind of toy.  He twirled it around, bit it, chased it - and all this while I was shivering in my shoes.  Finally I found a long pole, carefully lifted it up and threw it down the drain outside.  It slithered away in the water and Honey, not wishing to part with his new toy, jumped into the drain after it.  I had to forcefully carry him out and put him away.  Phew!  That was a close shave.  I hope that's the last I see of it, the snake, I mean....
